*** FOUND *** The lost foster pug in Phoenix, Arizona was FOUND!!!!! Thank you for spreading the word.
Arizona Pug Adoption and Rescue Network Hi, I’m Cleo, and foster mom tells me I am a bit of a celebrity! I wanted to personally thank everyone for all your prayers and for your help getting me home. What an adventure it has been…but not one I ever care to repeat! The last few days are a bit of a blur, but let me see if I can fill you in a bit.
Well, I saw the front door open, so I ran to get help for Sunny! I thought maybe the APARN volunteers were outside, so I just ran and ran and ran, trying to find them! One of the boys that was at the house tried to chase me on a bicycle, but I didn’t have time to play with him, I had to get help!
It was pretty hot out, so I stopped and rested for a bit in the shade. Then I remembered I was getting help for Sunny, but now I realized I didn’t know how to get back to him! I’m not really sure what happened next. I saw lots of people and other dogs as I traveled throught the neighborhoods. I don’t know if someone took me inside their house and took my harness off, or if I dreamed that. I must have slept a lot over the next two days, as it was too hot to go very far while the sun was out.
And I guess I must have ran through some road construction or something, as I got sticky black tar all over my left front leg and it splattered all over my nice pretty fur. I realized I was lost. Lost from my brother and lost from APARN, and it was not a good feeling to be lost with no harness and tags!
Tuesday afternoon I found a quiet porch where I could lie under some chairs to rest in the shade. It was about 3pm when I saw the US Mail Carrier come to the house. Now here is where you will see how famous I am - she knew my name! She called out “Cleo” and I stood up, but instead of coming to play with me, she had to make a phone call. So I sat back down. But a few minutes later, another lady came and called my name, and scooped me up, took my pictuer and rushed me to a shop nearby, where she gave me a bath and held me, then let me sit under her desk.
Soon, I heard a familiar voice, and I looked up, and it was the first APARN volunteer! She had something she called a scanner, and after waving it over my back, she said, “You are definitely Cleo, that is your chip number!” I tell you, humans are a little confusing - She said she was sooo happy to see me, but she was crying! After a little drive, she took me into her house, and said she had a surprise for me, and all of a sudden, I saw Sunny! I ran over to him, with my tail curled so tight and wagging so fast, and I saw his was also curled up tight and wagging fast! We were so excited to be back together! It was like a miracle had happened!
Foster mom said the Angels were watching over me while I was on my own. She said I was found on the 1900 block of Palm Lane, and everyone was amazed that I had made it across 16th Street. (I looked both ways first, and crossed with the light!) I am so happy that the Mail Carrier (a nice lady named Perla) called to say she saw me! I never would have gotten back to Sunny without her. And he needs me! Also, I hear that a lot of people went out looking for me every day, and posted flyers about me, and said lots of prayers for me. I am so touched that everyone cared so much about getting one little pug back safely to her brother.
Love, Cleo
