Celebrating! One Year Foster Anniversary!
Wednesday, May 25, 2011
This Friday, May 27th will mark our One Year Anniversary as a Foster Family for Southern Nevada Pug Rescue! All and all I would sum it up as a roller coaster ride of emotional joy!
Not only do we love every minute of it, but we are very proud and feel honored to have the privilege of being a part of such a wonderful organization.
During the past year we have played a roll in helping SNPR with 16 pugs! Six of which was to help with either their surrender, transport or simply had them over for a sleep over while their Foster Family went out of town.
We love being a member of this elite group of people known as Foster’s and are proud to say that we are currently on our 10th FOSTER!!!
Here’s a little recap of the rewarding adventure we have been on…
Foster #1 - May 27, 2010
ZOE - A sweet little girl then 5 years old. She is now a southern bell living in Alabama, we get updates on her from time to time from her Daddy who says she is spoiled rotten and his little girl! Update August 28, 2011 Zoe and her family now live in Italy!
Foster #2 - June 4, 2010
BRUNO - 2 1/2 year old boy full of energy and lots of love! His family named him Scooter and we get to see him at meet ups and Pug-O-Rama.
Foster #3 - June 11, 2010
OSCAR - He had just turned 1 year old. He went to live with a wonderful family and a bunch of gangster pugs, just kidding! His brothers and sisters are named after gangster, so they thought he would be a great fit as a lawyer (Oscar Goodman)! His family is very involved with pug rescue and we get to hear all about Oscar.
Foster #4 - August 23, 2011
VAN - This little boy captured everybody’s heart, 2 years old at the time. He had a really rough beginning in rescue and after surgery on his leg and a ten day stay at the hospital, he came to heal at our house. His Mom & Dad love him so much, they take him every where and we get to see him often. And Van’s family just adopted him a brother to play with!

Foster #5 - October 17, 2010
DEX - He was 5 years old then, he had been dumped at the pound. He melted his way into our hearts and we just couldn’t let him go. So Dex is a member of our family, yap, a foster failure. He brings so much joy to us everyday!
Foster #6 - November 9, 2010
LUCKY - He also was 5 years old when he came to us. He had been dumped at the pound with a growth on one of his toes the size of a LIME!!! He became so attached to us and us to him that it just felt like he would be so depressed if he left our home, and that would just break our hearts. We love him so very much and we are so happy that we foster failed on him also.
Foster #7 - February 4, 2011
PEACH - She was around 8 years old. I actually picked her up from her family, very sad, the man’s wife had passed away and he was raising his children and it was just to much for him. She was only at our house a couple of days. She was snatched up right away and we get to see her Mommy and hear about her all the time because her Mommy is now a Foster Mom! YAY!
Foster #8 - February 6, 2011
PUGGY - A wonderful senior 12 years old. He had lived with his family since he was a puppy, then they fell on very hard financial problems and knew the best thing for him was to be surrendered. He was adopted by a sweet man that takes him and his other pugs to the dog park everyday! He also brings his gang to pug meet ups all the time.
Foster #9 - April 16, 2011
MAX - 4 years old. A real sweet heart full of energy and very smart. He was adopted in about a week by a great family that already had a pug. They love him very much! I am sure they will bring him to a meet up or another SNPR event.
Foster #10 - April 27, 2011
BABE - She is approximately 7 years old, she is a puggle. Babe is our current foster, she was the victim of a Murder/Suicide, she lived with the bodies until they were found and then the police took her to the pound last October of 2010. She was forgotten and never released by the state of California until we got her on April 27th, 2011. The tragic event and then living in the pound for 7 months had her completely broken when we got her. But now she is happy again, her tail is up and she is coming back to life again!!! YAY for rescue! She is the kindest, gentlest dog I have ever met. She loves our gang and will be the best companion you could ever want. She is available for adoption through Southern Nevada Pug Rescue. UPDATE: August 19th, 2011 Babe was adopted by a great lady and is very loved!
I have always told you how rewarding it is to be a Foster. Remember, if is wasn’t for Foster Families there could not be rescues and that would be so sad.
I hope by showing you our journey of the past year that maybe you would understand how important it is and you might consider becoming a Foster also.
