Welcome to...

I started this blog to talk about my girls, two pugs, Wrinkles & Sputters, our kids!  We got them as puppies and they are 10 years old now!

Since starting my blog we now have adopted four little boy pugs, Mugzee, adopted in October 2009, Taz in May 2010, Dex October 2010 and Lucky the latest addition to our family, adopted November 2010.  So if you catch me talking about the girls and boys, or my kids, you’ll know who I mean.

I’m a stay at home Mommy to Wrinkles, Sputters, Mugzee,Taz, Dex & Lucky.  In May of 2010, I became a Foster Mommy for Southern Nevada Pug Rescue.  On a daily basis I may have 7 pugs and my great nephew Caiden who is 5 when he is not in school.

I thought this would be a great place for you to hear about our adventures with pugs. To spread the word about rescue and just have some fun.  Anyway… I have so much I want to share with you about the things in my life that I love… Pugs, Kids, Fishy’s, Eating, Drinking, Decorating, Travel and just plain living life to the fullest!

I hope while your here you can find something to wag your tail about!

Happy Friday! It's Going To Be A Great Weekend!

My house is clean and I am picking up Caiden from school today!  YAY!!!   He gets to spend the weekend with us!  I miss having him here everyday, but he is a big boy now and goes to Kindergarten.

I have decided to heat the pool a few degrees so that we can go swimming one last time before it cools off.  He loves to swim and it wears him out so he will go to sleep early.  Mwahahaha… there’s a method to my madness!

On Saturday I am going to see if he wants to help me sort out the stuff in the garage for a yard sale next weekend.  Then we will probably swim some more.

Saturday evening we are going to the first pug meet up of the season.  We will be taking Dino our current foster.

If you want to meet Dino and other Pugs available for adoption through

Recurring Dreams, What do they mean?

The other day when Caiden arrived, his Mom told me he didn’t sleep well, bad dreams.  When I asked what about she said “he doesn’t remember”.  After she left I asked him what he had dreamed about.  He said he had dreamed that those people, strangers, had taken his Mom away.

When I asked Caiden why he hadn’t told his Mom he said “Because I didn’t want to hurt her feelings!”  I said “Caiden, dreams are like movies in your head, you can’t help what you dream.  You can’t hurt someone’s feelings because of a dream.”  “You can tell your Mom, she understands that dreams are just in your head.”

Then I preceded to explain to him that the way you might hurt her feelings would be if you told her you don’t like her shirt or her hair.  Caiden thought for a moment and then said “What if I have a dream that I don’t like her hair?” I busted out laughing!

However it reminded me of the dreams I would have when I was a kid.  I always had a recurring dream about a GIANT GRIZZLY BEAR chasing me through the woods!  I would trip on a tree root and fall, not on my face… I would land flat on my back, facing the bear, horrified, not able to move or scream! The bear standing on his back legs, towering high above me… roaring… his claws stretched out, ready to slice me to shreds!

As I grew older, usually when I was extremely tired, I would have dreams about someone trying to get in my house… I could not wake up, I wanted to yell out for my dad but I couldn’t.  It was like I was awake but could not move or speak!  Then I would see my Dad walk into my room, in his white briefs and t-shirt, he would look out my window to see what was going on… I was screaming… trying to cry out… begging, PLEASE DAD shake me, wake me up! PLEASE, PLEASE DAD, wake me up!  It was so real!

When I would finally manage to get myself awake, it was only for a moment,  I was so tired I would  fall back asleep.  Then the same thing would happen over and over again!  It was horrible!  Finally one night I got up, out of bed, went out to the kitchen, got a drink of water, walked around a bit.   When I went back to bed, I fell fast asleep.  I did not have dreams again that night.

Later I started having dreams that I was trying to dial a phone number in an emergency, I could not get through to anybody!  Then dreams about walking out of a casino with my friends, falling to the ground on my knees, my eyes would roll back in my head, my friends would just be laughing, ha ha ha, she’s just drunk!

So I decided to study dream analysis and interpretation.  I learned how to put my dreams together with events or something that had happened in my life.  I finally realized that I had a fear of being helpless!

Once I realized what was going on… BOOM!  NO MORE BAD DREAMS!  I have never had a bear chase me, a phone not dial out, or my friends not help me.  I have never had a dream about being helpless ever again!

The Upside Down Wedgie!

According to Wikipedia

A wedgie occurs when a person’s underwear or other garments are wedged between the buttocks.

The other day I am standing at the end of my kitchen island watching as the guy put the handles on my cabinets.  When all of a sudden, Caiden my 4 year old great nephew, grabs my pants and pulls them straight to the ground!  Yes there I was “lookin like a fool with my pants on the ground”!

Feeling shocked and horrified,  I gasp “CAIDEN” throwing whatever was in my in my hands down, while bending over to pull up my pants!

It felt like a life time just for me to get hold of them and pull them up, Caiden at this point realizes this was not a good thing and said “here I’ll help you” only to slow down the process!

Well as embarrassed as I was, I was laughing so hard, “CAIDEN” why did you do that?  “I was trying to give you wedgie”!

Apparently when he spent the weekend with his Dad, his Dad gave him a wedgie, way to go Dad!  The funniest thing, right at that very moment, when my pants slipped to the ground like a greased pig would fly right out of your hands, the guy bent over to get something out of his tool box and missed the whole thing!

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Valentines Day!

To me Valentines Day is one of those holidays that is just not on the top of my list.  Now don’t get me wrong, I love my hunny with all of my heart, and we do celebrate it with a nice dinner and a few cocktails.  But to me Valentines Day is about new love, be it in the young or the old.

This past week the kids and I got ready for Valentines Day.  We shopped and bought a pack of funny little Valentine cards.  I took pictures of them to frame as gifts for their parents.   We worked long and hard.  The photo shoot itself was exhausting!  There were so many fake smiles and closed eyes I can’t even begin to count them all.

So our plan was to have our Valentines Day party on Friday.  We would invite Granny and Grandpa (my Mom & Dad) to come over for lunch and hand out our Valentine cards.

Friday morning around 6:30am Caiden shows up with a giant smile on his face, yelling surprise, his arms stretching up to me as he was holding a plate of fresh baked cookies and cupcakes, and Valentine cards.   He was so happy and so very proud!

At about 6:45am Riley is knocking on the door so excited she couldn’t even speak with her arms struggling to hold 3 boxes of Valentine chocolates as she pushed them into my arms, one for me, Caiden and herself.

It was at that moment that a giant red warning was going off in my head, shouting OMG I FORGOT TO GET ANYTHING FOR THE KIDS!  What am I going to do!

About that time Caiden said to me “do you have a surprise for me”  I said yes I do, but I can’t remember where I put it (in my mind… yes I do, but it’s still at the store).

Then I remembered Granny and Grandpa were coming over!  WHEW!  So while Grandpa stayed with the kids, my Mom and I went to pick up lunch and ran into Walgreens to pick up some gifts.  Yeah!  The day was saved!

We had a great day, enjoyed our lunch, the company of Granny & Grandpa, ate cupcakes and candy.  No broken hearts here!

Flo Rida - Low... Caiden & Sputters Get Down!

Caiden (3 years old) loves to dance, and he loves Flo Rida’s song Low or “Apple Bottom Jeans” as he calls it.  Friday afternoon while I was getting all gussied up after my shower he wanted to put my iPhone on the “loud” speakers so he could dance in my bathroom.

After a few minutes he said “Hey Diana, I got a great idea”! “How bout if you make a movie when I dance, is that awesome or what”!  Yes, he really talks like that!

So I did.  At first Sputters was kinda bored, scratching and all, she actually went under the stool to take a napeskis.  But then she couldn’t stand it anymore and she started doing “The Crawl”!  She tried to get Wrinkles into the act, but Wrinkles was being a party pooper.  Oh Well!

Please hang in there to the end to see Sputters.

I Have Twitter Power!

I donated $25 and received this t-shirt from The National Canine Cancer Foundation.  It took me an hour to talk Caiden into putting it on for this pictures, however, once he put it on you can see that he got his Twitter Power on!

We all have Twitter Power, it’s been proven everyday!

I love Twitter!  Please use your power!

The National Canine Cancer Foundation is a nationwide, contribution funded, 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to eliminating Cancer as a major health issue in dogs by funding grants directly to Cancer researchers who are working to save lives, find cures, better treatments and accurate, cost effective diagnostic methods in dealing with canine Cancer.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, my mother is a breast cancer survivor, sadly I did loose my Aunt Merle to it.  Her cancer happened many years ago when there wasn’t a lot of survivors.

There's Something Fishy Over Here!

It started out with a 1 gallon fish bowl.  Caiden and I have always looked at the fish when ever we go to the pet store.  Even though Caiden was barely 2 years old I thought it would be fun to have our own fish, so one day I caved and bought the fish bowl.  We had 3 very small fancy gold fish.

The next day when Caiden’s Dad woke him up he asked Caiden “Did you get some fishy’s”?  Caiden “Yes”…  Dad “What are they’re names”?  Caiden (as I was told by Dad) searching his mind like he was being tested, then all of a sudden shouted out “Gold”.   Dad …  “What are there last names”?  Again wanting to get it right “Fish”!  So from then on all three of them were name Gold.  Anyone that would ask their names were told Gold and Gold and Gold.

The funny thing is Caiden and I always knew which Gold we were talking about to each other.  I now understand George Foreman naming his son’s George.  I have heard him say they all know which son he is talking to or about when he says the name George!

Well of course a 1 gallon bowl needed to be cleaned every other day, not weekly like the clerk told me, DUH, I should have know better.  So we upgraded to a 3 gallon aquarium.  It worked out great.

Gold & Gold & Gold 7-08 Sputters like them Maybe they look yummy! Then we needed an algae eater, Caiden thought he looked like a shark and so he named him Sharky.  Well now we were hooked (ok I was hooked) and had to get a bigger aquarium, we just had to!  My husband had told everybody at the office that this was going to happen way back when I bought the 1 gallon fish bowl.   So I found a 28 gallon bowfront tank with a matching curved stand.

After we set up the new tank our fishy family grew a little at a time.  Mr. Belly is a beautiful bright orange and white fancy gold fish with a big flowing fantail.  He was named for his big belly, he is a piggy at dinner time.  We also have a Red Cap Oranda, she was kinda wierd to me at first, but then I thought she was so different we had to have her.  When my sister first saw her she said what is that “her brains”, her beautiful white pearlized body with that red “hat” on her head diserved a dignified name, so we call her “Hat Lady”.  Blacky a Black Moor with the most geogeous big eyes.  Speckles & Freckles, calico colored with black, orange & white. Poo Poo Head (guess who named him), Lippie Lipstick because he is bright orange with black lip liner.

We love our fish (probably me more than Caiden) I think they are relaxing to watch, like meditation to my soul, some day I hope to have a huge wall aquarium with salt water fish.  Of course I’ll be super rich and have Nemo and Dora and all of the most magnificently colored fishy swimming around for my enjoyment.  And of course, because I will be super rich someone else will take care of the tank.

This is one of my dreams.  A long with the huge acres of all of the wonderful animals I have always wanted.  Lots of space with green lush trees, plants and flowers and it will be so perfect.  All of the animals and the people will all love each other.   The foliage will flourish and of course I will have the most spick an span clean house, minimalist’s to the max.  My body will be healthy and fit as a fiddle.  And all of my time will be to help others (people and animals) in any way that I can.  Thank you God, Thank you Universe!
