Welcome to...

I started this blog to talk about my girls, two pugs, Wrinkles & Sputters, our kids! We got them as puppies and they are 10 years old now!

Since starting my blog we now have adopted four little boy pugs, Mugzee, adopted in October 2009, Taz in May 2010, Dex October 2010 and Lucky the latest addition to our family, adopted November 2010. So if you catch me talking about the girls and boys, or my kids, you’ll know who I mean.

I’m a stay at home Mommy to Wrinkles, Sputters, Mugzee,Taz, Dex & Lucky. In May of 2010, I became a Foster Mommy for Southern Nevada Pug Rescue. On a daily basis I may have 7 pugs and my great nephew Caiden who is 5 when he is not in school.

I thought this would be a great place for you to hear about our adventures with pugs. To spread the word about rescue and just have some fun. Anyway… I have so much I want to share with you about the things in my life that I love… Pugs, Kids, Fishy’s, Eating, Drinking, Decorating, Travel and just plain living life to the fullest!

I hope while your here you can find something to wag your tail about!

Cone Head

As you know when we age things change with our bodies, stuff grows on our skin that didn’t come with our original packaging. Moles, warts, tags, just things. This also happens with dogs.

Wrinkles had grown a mole tag like thing over her left eye. She really didn’t act like it bothered her but her eye was always red and it was getting bigger.

Tag above her left (your right) eyeWhen it was time to have her teeth cleaned I asked Dr. Varela if he could remove it. I had no idea that she would have to wear one of those cones over her head until I picked her up. It was so sad but she was a trooper, as I have mentioned, Wrinkles never complains about anything. As she got used to it, bumping into things and realizing that she could not go out the doggie door (which really put a damper on getting extra treats) she actually grew quite proud of it.

She had to wear the cone for one week to keep from scratching the eye before it healed and the stiches could be removed. Of course I hated it and wanted to remove it but I knew that I had to follow Dr. V’s orders. On the day before she was to get it off she was laying in the chair with me, under the blanket, I got up and the blanket covered her completely, when I came back she was curled up in the chair and as I picked the blanket up off the floor I felt something hard, it was her cone! Somehow she managed to get it off her head! I don’t know how she did it with out choking. Of course the first thing she did was scratch the scab and her eye started bleeding a little. So I managed to get the cone back on her.

I guess I didn’t get the thing fastened very good because when she came out from under the covers the next morning the gauze was still tied around her neck and the cone was wide open, she looked like she had wings. So I just took it off her. I’m sure Dr. Varela didn’t believe me when I told him it had just came off that morning but oh well. The eye healed great and we are living cone less once again!
