Welcome to...

I started this blog to talk about my girls, two pugs, Wrinkles & Sputters, our kids!  We got them as puppies and they are 10 years old now!

Since starting my blog we now have adopted four little boy pugs, Mugzee, adopted in October 2009, Taz in May 2010, Dex October 2010 and Lucky the latest addition to our family, adopted November 2010.  So if you catch me talking about the girls and boys, or my kids, you’ll know who I mean.

I’m a stay at home Mommy to Wrinkles, Sputters, Mugzee,Taz, Dex & Lucky.  In May of 2010, I became a Foster Mommy for Southern Nevada Pug Rescue.  On a daily basis I may have 7 pugs and my great nephew Caiden who is 5 when he is not in school.

I thought this would be a great place for you to hear about our adventures with pugs. To spread the word about rescue and just have some fun.  Anyway… I have so much I want to share with you about the things in my life that I love… Pugs, Kids, Fishy’s, Eating, Drinking, Decorating, Travel and just plain living life to the fullest!

I hope while your here you can find something to wag your tail about!

The Haunted Kitchen!

Usually I wait until almost the last minute to get something out of the freezer to cook for dinner,  but not yesterday.  For about a week I everywhere I turned people were talking about making fried chicken.  It was to the point that I started craving it.

So yesterday I jumped out of bed went to the freezer and pulled out some chicken legs, that’s all I had but it didn’t matter I love chicken legs.  Oh and I would make mashed potatoes with country gravy.  Oh yes and collard greens with bacon and onions.  I announced the wonderful menu to my husband before he left for work, he thought it sounded so awesome!

All day as I went about my business the craving of this fried chicken dinner was in my mind.  Mmmmmm!  I could hardly wait!

This picture is from the net, my was to horrid to show!

I could smell the chicken frying to a beautiful golden brown, I could feel the crunch between my teeth as I took the first bite of that crispy goodness.  The mash potatoes were light and fluffy and smothered in country gravy.  Ahhhhh then there was the collard greens, soft and tender with bacon and onions.  I just knew it was going to be so yummy.

Everything was going so smooth, I chopped up the collard greens, diced the onions, fried up some bacon and got them on the stove to cook.  Then I peeled and cut up the potatoes and put them on the stove to cook.  Made an egg wash and a seasoned flour mixture for the chicken.

Well I don’t know what happened but NOTHING CAME OUT RIGHT!  The mashed potatoes were gummy with lumps.  The collard greens were salty.  And that wonderful fried chicken that I had been dreaming of for a week was burnt on the outside and raw on the inside!  I was so disappointed :-(

I don’t know what the heck happened, it’s not like I haven’t made this meal before, like a bazillion times!  All I know is who ever or what ever was in my kitchen last night, GET OUT and STAY OUT!

Oh yeah and they made a huge mess for me to clean up!
