Welcome to...

I started this blog to talk about my girls, two pugs, Wrinkles & Sputters, our kids!  We got them as puppies and they are 10 years old now!

Since starting my blog we now have adopted four little boy pugs, Mugzee, adopted in October 2009, Taz in May 2010, Dex October 2010 and Lucky the latest addition to our family, adopted November 2010.  So if you catch me talking about the girls and boys, or my kids, you’ll know who I mean.

I’m a stay at home Mommy to Wrinkles, Sputters, Mugzee,Taz, Dex & Lucky.  In May of 2010, I became a Foster Mommy for Southern Nevada Pug Rescue.  On a daily basis I may have 7 pugs and my great nephew Caiden who is 5 when he is not in school.

I thought this would be a great place for you to hear about our adventures with pugs. To spread the word about rescue and just have some fun.  Anyway… I have so much I want to share with you about the things in my life that I love… Pugs, Kids, Fishy’s, Eating, Drinking, Decorating, Travel and just plain living life to the fullest!

I hope while your here you can find something to wag your tail about!

These awesome ladies have rescued over 400 Pugs! Their goal is to never turn away a Pug.  So far they have succeeded due to the donations they have receive.

My New Shower!

During the renovations we decided to replace our old brass shower stall with a frameless shower stall.  Well let me tell you, I had so many bozo’s come out and give me estimates it was ridiculous!  Each one had a different problem, either with the rock or the wood frame or the cultured marble.  One company even wanted me to take the measurements myself so that they could give me an estimate over the phone! WHAAAAAAAT!

Then we got turned on to Rich Jones and Tony Woodard of FCG - Full Custom Glass.  They are so awesome!  You just knew they were professionals from the minute they walked in!  There were no problems to them at all.  I asked for glass shelves, no problem, hooks, no problem.  They took the measurements, made a drawing and look at the fabulous results!  These guys can do it all, and not just showers… windows, mirrors, counters, backsplashes!  Custom glass for less!  These guys are young and innovative!  They have been working with glass for 20 years and just celebrated their one year anniversary in business yesterday!  I just can’t say enough about them!

Congratulations Full Custom Glass on your 1st Anniversay, wishing you many years of success!

The Snowball Effect!

Ok so I have HATED my carpet for years!  Oh yeah we just HAD to have it because my Mom & Dad got it in their bedroom and it was so plush and wonderful!  But like 3 years later it SUCKED!  It just seemed no matter how many times you vacuumed or cleaned, it always seemed so gross and dirty! We (including the dogs, kids, family, friends, neighbors) all coughed, sneezed, itched and scratched…  I HATED IT!  So we decided to get tile, Travertine to be exact through out the house.

So we went shopping, found a really great deal on tile, at Floor and Decor.  My sister, Linda, works with a really great guy named Tony, (I call him Tony Bologneeeee, just cause I like nick names, trust me there is no bologneeeee with him! We, love, love, love him!) anyway, he installs tile and laminate flooring, really he does just about anything you need done!

Here is where it starts to snow ball into a major renovation, now we didn’t tear down walls or anything like that, but hey, we have Tony!  Yeah! And he can do anything!  Just having tile installed through out your house is like freaking moving!  You have to pack everything…  in every room and get it off the floor, basically out of the house.  So we sold some furniture and rented a storage POD, it worked out great!  I highly recommend them, they have this cool machine to deliver it, but the best thing is that it stays on your property.

So were watching TV one night and looking at the beautiful paint job we did so many years ago and said “hey I wonder how much they would charge us to paint the living room and family room”?  So then we added paint!

Well Tony, brings over Joey a painter, like Tony, jack of all trades, master of ALL! ( I like to call them the Ronzoni brothers, being both Italian)  these guys rock, they can do just about anything, so we started adding little projects that we had been putting off for the last three or so years since my dad had a stroke.  Like change out the thermostats, putting an electrical outlet behind the TV so that the cord won’t hang down the wall(we had, HAD to get a 46” flat screen TV, on the wall like in all the magazines, in 2007 when the Chicago Bears went to the Super Bowl), paint the ceiling vents, re-build the toilets from new seats to everything inside and out, and since they had them off due to the tile installation, fix the leaking faucets in the master bath tub, and it went on and on!

Then one night my hubby says I know that we probably can’t afford it but I want to have a cabinet guy give us an estimate on re-staining the kitchen cabinets (from honey oak to espresso).  So you guessed it we decided to have the cabinets done.  At first just the kitchen and the guy threw in one bathroom just off the family room for FREE!  So I’m all OK it’s a deal!  Then we had to buy all new handles, we never had any kind of knobs or handles on the cabinets before but the guy said he would guarantee the finish for 5 years with handles and 1 year with out, so you guess it, new handles, brushed nickel.  They are going to look really cool!

Well since we were having the cabinets stained my oak plantation shutters were going to look so gross.  When we had the plantation shutters installed we got an off white color through out the house, but in the family room we had oak to go with with cabinets.  So after trying to decide if I should take them down and put up new window treatments I decided to see if we could have them stained.  So I call Tony and he and Joey come over and say ya they can do it!  I had decided to take out the slats and make a soji screen for the sliding glass door and put up rice paper blinds behind the regular windows since we are going for a zen, minamalistic look.  So basically they are now just beautiful wood frames around the windows with the rice paper blinds behind them.

Ok then my hubby decides that we need to replace all of the door handles from brass to brushed nickel, and he was right.  I have hated the polished brass through out our house since the day we moved in here 10 years ago.

Oh then there is the closet door in the master bath, BRASS of course and our shower door is of course BRASS, I have hated it since we move in, the track always gets moldy.  So now were getting new closet doors and a frame less shower door.  We had replaced the bathroom faucets with oil rubbed bronze years ago but never replaced the shower fixtures, they were white so we kept them.  Of course now that were getting a new frame less shower with oil rubbed bronze hinges, now we have to replace the shower faucet handle and shower head.  I also had the shower door guys make to glass shelves and hooks so I never have to buy another shower caddy, yeah!  Well now the shower pan is really gross, well to replace it would mean tearing out all of the shower walls and so on, so now I decide to have the shower pan re-finished.

Ok so were walking outside one day, me, Young, Tony & Joey and I say hey what about painting the outside of the house!  We had been needing to get this done for about 5 years.  So now the outside of the house is going to get painted.

Oh I forgot to tell you about Caiden’s playroom!  During all of this I had to pack up 2-3 kids and 3 dogs and go to who’s ever house I could find for the day.  One day we were at Caiden’s house, it was a beautiful day, we were out back, the kids were having so much fun.  Well at my house the kids can’t really go outside because we have a pool, it’s great for summer but in the winter it really sucks.  They get cabin fever, so I say to my hubby that I want to get one of the climbing things with slides.  Oh please honey, they aren’t that expensive and the kids would have so much fun.  So when I went to buy it at Wal-Mart they have a special that if I buy this I get this, so duh, I got the climber and a free picnic table.  When then I had to buy the floor mats incase they fall off cause damn tile floor is HARD!

Well here is where we stand as of today.  The cabinet guys finally got the color right.  They are going to start a week from Monday and will only take 7 working days to complete.  We have packed up the kitchen so every time we go to cook a meal we have to go to one of our boxes and pull out pots, pans, spices, anything in a draw… it sucks but it will be good in the end.  I promise I will post pictures when it’s all done.

Now if your all wondering if we are Mr. & Mrs. Got Rocks the answer is NO!  We don’t go out to eat, as you know my husband and I cook up some pretty good groceries, I color my own hair myself, do my own nails & pedicures, we where the same clothes for EVER!  We had saved up some cash and have now maxed out our credit cards, we are eating Beanee & Weenee’s for dinner, but in the end when it’s all done it is going to be worth it!

Oh and now we are saving to have the drive way re-finished and the pool deck re-stained and then we are just going to enjoy!  It’s all good!  Heee! Heee! We are broke, in debt and in love with our new (ten year old home) if you live in the Las Vegas, Henderson area and need a really good guy to help you get some things done around the house, do I have a guy for you, Tony Bologneeeee, he is your guy!  Email me!

I will post before and after pictures when it’s all done.  I really do think it will be all done someday! LOL :-)

I want to go home!

For the past 3 weeks I have been in the middle of a major renovation at my house.  We decided to have tile laid through out our entire house!  It is just like moving!  Everything has to be packed and off the floors.

It is going to be finished in a couple of weeks and then I will tell you the entire story.  Whew!
