Welcome to...

I started this blog to talk about my girls, two pugs, Wrinkles & Sputters, our kids!  We got them as puppies and they are 10 years old now!

Since starting my blog we now have adopted four little boy pugs, Mugzee, adopted in October 2009, Taz in May 2010, Dex October 2010 and Lucky the latest addition to our family, adopted November 2010.  So if you catch me talking about the girls and boys, or my kids, you’ll know who I mean.

I’m a stay at home Mommy to Wrinkles, Sputters, Mugzee,Taz, Dex & Lucky.  In May of 2010, I became a Foster Mommy for Southern Nevada Pug Rescue.  On a daily basis I may have 7 pugs and my great nephew Caiden who is 5 when he is not in school.

I thought this would be a great place for you to hear about our adventures with pugs. To spread the word about rescue and just have some fun.  Anyway… I have so much I want to share with you about the things in my life that I love… Pugs, Kids, Fishy’s, Eating, Drinking, Decorating, Travel and just plain living life to the fullest!

I hope while your here you can find something to wag your tail about!

These awesome ladies have rescued over 400 Pugs! Their goal is to never turn away a Pug.  So far they have succeeded due to the donations they have receive.

Meet Our Kids

About ten years ago we started out with 2 pugs, Wrinkles and Sputters.  We had them for eight years and then we found out about Southern Nevada Pug Rescue, soon after that we went to our first Pug-O-Rama in October of 2009 where we met Mugzee.  Then we decided to adopt another black pug, so in May of 2010 we adopted Taz.  Then we became a Foster Family, we fostered 4 and then foster failed on number 5 Dex and number 6 Lucky.  We are proud to say that we have gone on to foster 11 pugs and love every minute of it.  Yes it is hard to let them go, but in order for the rescue to continue their work, you must help the process.

Meet Lucky

LUCKY - He also was 5 years old when he came to us.  He had been dumped at the pound with a growth on one of his toes the size of a LIME!!!  He is such a big lovable lug, follows me everywhere and loves to play games.  He also likes to help me with the dishes in the dishwasher.

Meet Dex

DEX - is 5 years old, he had been dumped at the pound as a stray.  He melted his way into our hearts and we just couldn’t let him go.  He is such a happy boy, who loves to give hugs and kisses.  He brings so much joy to us everyday!

Meet Taz

Taz my little man!

I am so happy to say that on May 29, 2010,  we adopted another pug, making us a family of 4 pugs!

Taz, just 4 years old, was surrendered to Southern Nevada Pug Rescue from a breeder because he had a low sperm count and was deemed of no use to them anymore.  They delivered him in the back of a pic up truck!  NICE! TRUE LOVE THERE!

His first day at our house, his new home, was nothing but pacing and panting all day.  I imagined that was they way he had spent most of his days in a fenced in kennel type situation.  He wanted so bad to trust you but he was scared, even so he still would give lots of kisses.   I showed him a toy and he ran as if he had never seen a toy before.  Now he runs through the house with a toy in his mouth flipping it all over the place!

It did not take him long at all to adjust to his new living conditions.  We love him so much and he has fit right in with our family.

On July 30, 2010 Taz and Wrinkles got into an argument, she put up her paw and poked his eye.  Dr. Varela tried to save the eye, but after 2 days the eye repair did not hold and he had to have his eye removed.  :(

It was a horrible and very traumatic experience.  However, little Taz has not even noticed.  He is his same old self running around and playing and giving lots of kisses.

This picture was taken on Sunday, August 29, 2010.  Taz is still my little Tazzy man.  He is handsome as ever!  It hasn’t slowed him down one bit.  He is maturing, however, every now and then he and Wrinkles still want to battle it out.  I tell them NO very firmly and they usually break up, or I pick one of them up or squirt the water bottle.  Funny thing is they will get in a bed together.  Wrinkles has never done that.  They have a love, hate thing going on!  We love him so much and he is such a joy to our family.

Meet Mugzee "Our Big Boy"

Mugzee taken with iPhone on October 18, 2009 the 1st night we got him.

Mugzee… August 29, 2010… He is not as heavy as he looks in this pic!  When we got him and he looked like skin and bones, his back bone was actually showing, my vet said he weighed 20 lbs!  He now weighs about 24 lbs, which I feel is a little heavy.  He also looks so grown up!  We love him more than words can express.  He is our big boy!

On October 17, 2009 we went to Pug-O-Rama, it was there that we met Franky.  He was walking around with a little boy and he just grabbed our heart.

Franky now know as Mugzee Pug-O-Rama 2009

That night we went home and filled out an adoption application with Southern Nevada Pug Rescue

The next day Dawn Boudreaux from SNPR brought Franky over for a house inspection.  She took off his leash and we sat down on the floor, he ran around with Sputters for a minute came right back, lifted his leg and peed on my back!  I was in shock at first but inside I was laughing like crazy!  Dawn said I guess he is just marking his territory, and that he was!  Cause he was forever ours!

So on that very day that Mugzee peed on me we kept him forever!  We love him to pieces!  Like I said he was named Franky but we thought with a mug like that we had to call him Mugzee.  His full name is Mugzee Franky Malone, my sister calls him Mugzee Malone, because he walks like a gangster!  LOL!

He is our first little boy and he is so happy to be alive, so very grateful and so are we!  We love him with all of our heart.  He has become a member of our family with no problems what so ever.  He is a lover, of life and everything in it.  He has no regrets and never looks back on the past.

This was his story from Southern Nevada Pug Rescue:

Franky the Elko Pug…
is now Franky the Las Vegas pug.

Meet Franky – he was flown to Vegas via a private plane of foster, Barry Lasko, a local dentist in Henderson, on Friday, 9/11. He was stray in a kill shelter in Elko, NV. The shelter was very cooperative and drove Franky to the airport and even brought Barry some sandwiches from the local restaurant! Barry generously paid for the fuel for his plane to fly up and spring Franky and asked that any donations we received be put towards Pug-O-Rama and medical bills.

He is skinny and our vet believe he has had some kind of trauma on his left side, was attacked, abused or hit by a car, and it was left untreated, whatever it was. He can’t see out of his left eye but it is normal looking, and his lip on the left side – the top one has what looks like a bite mark in it and his lower lip hangs really low. He was taken to our vet for his shots, a neuter and a lip tuck! There is one picture of the “before” of his lip and a few of the “after”.

Our vet believes he is about 6-7 years old. His left leg also has a limp/drag/wobble to it, but he gets around alright- this is also being contributed to whatever he went thru in his past. His vision in his right eye seems to be a little compromised, but he seems to hear fine. He also has ear infections in both his ears and is being treated by ear meds. He seems to be a happy and loving pug – lavishing in any attention he gets. Is there someone who can accept this special pug as the special little guy he is? He’s just looking for a loving home to spoil him like he has never known it before.

Many thanks to everyone who emailed us about this guy, to Barry for flying him to us, and to the shelter for being so concerned about this guy.
